Walmart WFS
Walmart WFS item labels (GTIN, not FNSKU)
Walmart Fulfillment Services needs a readable, scannable UPC (12 digits) or GTIN-14 on the outside of every unit, and that code must match the item in Seller Center. Walmart does not accept FNSKUs, EANs or vendor SKUs as item barcodes, so your Amazon labels won’t work there. Prepline’s Walmart mode checks every code against those rules and prints UPC-A or GTIN-14 labels on your thermal roll or sheet.
Walmart’s rules for item labels
| Rule | What it means |
|---|---|
| Barcode | GTIN (14 digits) or UPC (12 digits) on each unit’s packaging |
| Not accepted | EAN, vendor SKU numbers and FNSKUs |
| Must match | The GTIN/UPC listed for that item in Seller Center; each variant needs its own |
| Placement | The outermost packaging of each sellable unit, still visible after it leaves the shipping box. Not on the shipping box. |
| Old barcodes | Cover them |

Print them
- Export your item list from Seller Center (or any spreadsheet) with the UPC or GTIN column. Keep it as text: Excel drops leading zeros from UPCs.
- Paste it into Prepline and switch the job to Walmart GTIN. Codes that lost a leading zero are fixed when the check digit proves it; FNSKUs and EANs are flagged.
- Pick your printer and label size. UPC-A bars are sized to at least 80% of nominal (the GS1 floor) whenever the label is wide enough; Prepline warns you when it isn’t.
- Print one, scan it, then print the run.
A GTIN-14 that starts with 00 is the same number as a 12-digit UPC, so Prepline prints it as UPC-A. Other GTIN-14s are printed as GS1-128 with the (01) prefix.

No. Walmart does not accept FNSKUs. Each unit needs its UPC (12 digits) or GTIN-14 as listed in Seller Center.
Does Walmart accept EAN barcodes?
Walmart’s WFS label guide lists EAN as not acceptable for item labels. Use the UPC or GTIN-14 listed for the item.
Where does the WFS item label go?
On the outermost packaging of each sellable unit, where it stays visible after the unit leaves the shipping box, with any old barcodes covered.
