FNSKU labels

How to print FNSKU labels

Download the item label PDF from Seller Central, turn it into a PDF whose page is exactly one label (2 × 1 in, 2.25 × 1.25 in, Dymo 30334) or your sticker sheet, then print it at Scale 100% with margins set to None. Print one label and scan it before the full run. Prepline does the middle step in your browser: drop Amazon’s PDF and every label lands on your stock, centred.

1. Get the label PDF from Seller Central

In your shipment (Send to Amazon) or from Manage inventory, choose Print item labels, set the quantity to the number of units, and pick a layout. If you print on a thermal printer, any layout works with Prepline, because it reads each label out of the PDF. If you print on sheets, pick the sheet you own (in the US that’s usually 30 per sheet, 1 × 2-5/8 in, the Avery 5160 layout).

2. Make the PDF match your label

This is where most misprints start. Seller Central’s PDF is a Letter page with 30 labels on it. Sent to a 2 × 1 in thermal printer, the printer either shrinks the whole page onto one sticker or crops it, which is where “the sides are cut off” comes from. The fix is a PDF with one label per page and a page size equal to the label.

  1. Open Prepline and drop the PDF (or press “Try with a sample PDF” to see it first).
  2. Pick your printer and label: Rollo 2.25 × 1.25, Zebra 2 × 1, Dymo 30334, or a sheet like Avery 5160.
  3. Check the life-size preview. Barcodes are rebuilt with whole-dot bars for your printer; titles are trimmed the way Amazon trims them.
  4. Press Print and download the PDF.

2.25 × 1.25 in (57 × 32 mm). Dashed line: keep text and bars 2 mm inside the edge. Arrow: the label leaves the printer this way.

3. Print with three settings

Paper sizeThe label size (e.g. 2.25 × 1.25 in)Letter or A4
Scale100% (Actual size)100% (Actual size)
MarginsNoneDefault or None

On a thermal printer the label size must exist in the printer driver first. Rollo, MUNBYN and Phomemo call it a custom paper size; Zebra and TSC call it a Stock; Dymo already lists its labels by number. See the printer pages for each one.

4. Test one, then print the run

Print a single label and scan it with your phone’s camera or a barcode app. It should read the FNSKU, for example X002QK8V1N. If the print is shifted, use Prepline’s test label (a frame 2 mm inside each edge): measure the left and top gaps, and the offset is saved for that printer.

Where to stick it

Cover every other barcode on the unit (manufacturer UPC included) and put the FNSKU label on a flat side where it won’t wrap around a corner. Amazon’s receiving teams scan the outside of each unit, so a label inside a bag or under shrink wrap that clouds it can fail.

Questions

Can I print FNSKU labels on a regular printer?

Yes, on sticker sheets. In the US the common one is 30 per sheet (1 × 2-5/8 in, Avery 5160). Print at Scale 100% and use removable labels, which is what Amazon asks for.

What size thermal labels are best for FNSKU?

2.25 × 1.25 in is the easiest: the barcode fits with room to spare and a full title line. 2 × 1 in also works, it’s Amazon’s minimum size, but leaves little margin, so the PDF must be made for exactly 2 in.

Why does my label print tiny or cut off?

The page in the PDF is bigger than the label. Use a PDF with one label per page at the label size and set Scale to 100% in the print dialog.

Do I need a label for every unit?

Since March 31, 2026, resellers without brand registry need an FNSKU on every unit they send, because Amazon stopped commingling stickerless inventory.
